Darian Stevenson is a breaking news reporter for Syracuse.com, covering crime, public safety, and fast-moving stories across Central New York. She’s especially focused on reporting that highlights and impacts the Black community. Originally from Alton, Illinois, Darian has written about maternal health disparities, sexual health stigma, and grassroots anti-violence efforts. Her work aims to amplify underrepresented voices and hold systems accountable. She holds a master’s degree in Magazine, News, and Digital Journalism from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School and a bachelor’s in Mass Communications and Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
