Nedrow, N.Y. — The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is asking Nedrow residents to check their properties as the search continues for a woman who has not been seen since she was reported missing two days ago.

Jacqueline Chiodo, 43, was last seen at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 5800 S. Salina St. in Nedrow, according to Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office. There have been no confirmed sightings since, and concern for her safety is increasing, he said.

Deputies are urging residents in and around Nedrow to look around their homes and yards, including garages, sheds, barns, porches and any outbuildings where Chiodo may have taken shelter. Newton said even small details or observations could help move the investigation forward.

Sheriff’s detectives and patrol deputies continue to search the area, but Newton said community participation is critical as the effort expands.

Chiodo was discharged from Upstate Community General Hospital in the town of Onondaga on Tuesday, Newton said. An Uber was scheduled to pick her up, but she never got in.

Chiodo is 5 feet 4 inches, weighs about 140 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing green hospital pants and a purple coat, Newton said.

There is no indication of foul play at this time, but there is concern about her safety, Newton said.

Anyone with information about Chiodo’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office at 315-425-2111.
