The Westhill girls volleyball team’s redemption tour is nearly complete.
The Wolf Pack went 2-1 in New York State Class B pool play on Friday at the Harding Mazzotti Arena in Glens Falls.
The performance was good enough for Westhill to move onto its third-straight state final this weekend and fifth in program history.
The Wolf Pack are looking to bounce back in Saturday evening’s Class B state title game following a disappointing ending to last season’s championship match.
In Friday’s pool play, Westhill beat Section IV’s Whitney Point in two sets (25-19, 25-18) and knocked off Section I’s Putnam Valley in three sets (21-25, 25-21, 15-11).
The Wolf Pack’s only loss came at the hands of Section V’s Finney, who edged Westhill in three sets (23-25, 25-22, 9-15).
Now, Westhill and Finney will square off in the Class B final at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. It’s the Falcon’s first-ever trip to a state championship match.
The Wolf Pack, however, will be in search of their first state title since 2019.
Finney went 3-0 in pool play. Whitney Point compiled a 1-2 record, while Putnam Valley lost all three of its matches.
Westhill, now 19-4 on the season, has Section III and regional Class B crowns in its collection so far this season.
