It’s official: “Weird Al” Yankovic is the first artist on the 2026 Syracuse amphitheater concert lineup.
Yankovic will perform at Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview on Friday, July 10. The 8 p.m. show will be part of his expanded “Bigger & Weirder” tour dates featuring Puddles Pity Party as the opening act.
“We had so much fun on our 2025 Bigger & Weirder tour that we decided we just didn’t want to stop. So we’re doing a bunch of shows next year too! If you missed it the first time around - or if for some crazy reason you want to see it again - now’s your chance!!” Yankovic said.
How to get “Weird Al” tickets
Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster; prices have not been announced. A fan presale will begin Tuesday at 10 a.m.
It will be Yankovic’s first Syracuse concert in 7 years. As a result, fans may also want to check Vivid Seats, Seat Geek and StubHub for tickets.
Outside lawn chairs are not allowed as part of a Live Nation policy that began last year. A limited number of lawn chair rentals will be available
The Empower FCU Amphitheater concert is Yankovic’s only 2026 concert in Upstate New York. His only other stop in the Empire State will be July 11 at UBS Arena in Elmont.
His previous “Bigger & Weirder” tour included stops Darien Lake Amphitheater near Buffalo, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, and the Broadview Stage at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) in Saratoga Springs.
What to expect at the concert
Yankovic last performed in Syracuse at the Landmark Theatre in 2019 as part of his “Strings Attached” tour with an orchestra. The “Bigger & Weirder” tour features more of his greatest hits and fan favorites featuring a giant video wall, multiple costume changes and an eight-piece backing ensemble that includes his original band.
“This is kind of a ‘best of both worlds’ tour,” Yankovic said when he kicked off the tour last year. “We’ll be doing all the big crowd-pleasing parodies as well as some deep cuts for the hardcore fans — but with twice as many players on stage, everything is going to sound twice as good!”
Yankovic’s 2025 tour dates included three Upstate New York stops, at the Darien Lake Amphitheater near Buffalo, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, and the Broadview Stage at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) in Saratoga Springs. The SPAC concert featured a surprise performance of Helen Reddy’s “I Am Woman” and the theme songs to Captain Underpants” and Disney’s “Milo Murphy’s Law,” plus videos of “Weird Al” references in movies and TV shows like “Stranger Things,” “The Simpsons,” “The Naked Gun,” “The Goldbergs,” “Safety Patrol,” “Reno 911!” and “Scooby Doo.” ”
“Weird Al” Yankovic is a comedy musician best known for his accordion-fueled parodies like “Eat It” (Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”), “Amish Paradise” (Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise”), “Like a Surgeon” (Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”), “Another One Rides the Bus” (Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust”), “Smells Like Nirvana” (Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”) and “White & Nerdy” (Chamillionaire’s “Ridin’ Dirty”). He also performs original songs and polka medleys of popular music, including 2024’s “Polkamania!” featuring covers of Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Lil Nas X and Cardi B.
Yankovic is also known for his film and TV career, including the cult classic “UHF” and the Emmy-winning biopic “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.” His credits include “Comedy Bang Bang,” “The Weird Al Show,” “My Little Pony,” “Funny Or Die,” “The Simpsons,” “The Naked Gun,” and directing music videos for Hanson, Ben Folds and the Presidents of the United States of America.
