Syracuse, N.Y. ― Syracuse guard JJ Starling will sit out the Orange’s game against Delaware State today at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Starling suffered an injury to his right leg in Syracuse’s regular season-opening victory over Binghamton on Monday and has been listed as day-to-day since by SU officials.

Starling, a 6-foot-4 senior, was named to the ACC’s second-team during preseason voting for conference awards. He led SU in scoring last season at 17.8 points per game.

Syracuse defeated Binghamton 85-47 on Monday. Syracuse freshman Kiyan Anthony absorbed most of Starling’s minutes at the shooting guard position. Anthony had 15 points in 28 minutes against the Bearcats.

Anthony figures to start in Starling’s place today.
