Syracuse lacrosse receives commitment from Top 100 local prospect

Syracuse, N.Y. —Adrian Sweeney is staying home to play college lacrosse.

Sweeney, a right-handed midfielder out of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, announced his commitment to Syracuse University on Sunday.

Sweeney (six-foot-two, 190 pounds) is listed as a four-star prospect ranked in the Top 100 of the Class of 2027, according to Inside Lacrosse.

Sweeney has compiled 98 goals and 26 assists in his career so far for the Northstars.

Sweeney was named to syracuse.com’s 2025 All-Central New York large school boys lacrosse team.

He finished last season ranked 10th in points scored (40g, 17a) as a sophomore in Class A.
