Syracuse, N.Y. —Gary Gait has landed a verbal commitment from one of the top-rated lacrosse prospects in the Class of 2027.

Five-star goaltender Moe Sobel announced his commitment to play for Syracuse Lacrosse on Monday.

Sobel is ranked as the top goaltender and No. 7 prospect overall in the Class of 2027 by Inside Lacrosse.

Sobel, a six-foot-five, 190-pound prospect, has played at Chestnut Hill (Pa.) near Philadelphia but is transferring to IMG Academy (Fla.) for next season.

Sobel’s game is described as “one of the best and most unique goalie prospects that the game has seen. He has elite athleticism, combined with a 6-5, 190-pound frame that allows him to cover so much of the net. Sobel also draws praises for his advanced knowledge of the game” by the National Lacrosse Federation.

Sobel is Syracuse’s first commitment for the Class of 2027.
