Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse men’s lacrosse added the fifth and sixth prospects to its 2027 recruiting haul on Wednesday.

Attack Max Kruger and face-off specialist Gentry Curtis both announced their verbal commitments to Syracuse University on social media.

Kruger is rated as a three-star prospect by Inside Lacrosse. He currently attends the Hill Academy in Ontario, Canada.

National recruiting analyst Ty Xanders, of Prep Lacrosse, gives Kruger a much higher rating, slotting him as the 25th-best prospect in the Class of 2027.

Xanders describes Kruger as “an incredibly slick playmaker.”

Kruger, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, scored 68 goals and 90 assists in 40 box games this summer for Orangeville Minor Lacrosse Club.

Syracuse head coach Gary Gait actively recruits box lacrosse players to infuse the Orange offense with players who are creative with stick skills and can operate in tight space around the crease.

Graduated players Owen Hiltz and Sam English were proficient box players, as are current players Joey Spallina, Trey Deere and Finn Thomson, among others.

Spallina and Deere were teammates of Kruger with Orangeville.

Curtis, 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, comes to Syracuse as a three-star face-off specialist.

He is a native of Overland Park, Kansas but currently attends Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio.

Curtis can also play traditional midfield in addition to focusing on the face-off X.

Curtis and Kruger join No. 7 overall prospect and top-rated goaltender Moe Sobel, No. 52 overall prospect Garrett Sullivan, No. 80-ranked SSDM Quincy Quillard and All-CNY prospect Adrian Sweeney in Syracuse’s Class of 2027.
