Philadelphia - Aaron Womack, the 6-foot-6 freshman wing from Wisconsin, is considering a redshirt season for 2025-26, Syracuse coach Adrian Autry said Saturday.
Womack has not appeared in any of SU’s three games this season. He was the only player left on the bench in the Orange men’s 80-50 win over Drexel.
“Those are discussions that we’re having, trying to figure out what we want to do with him,” Autry said. “He’s super talented. We just gotta figure out what’s the best decision. We’ll talk about that as we move forward.”
Womack was a prolific scorer at his hometown Dominican High School, finishing his career there as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,240 career points.
He arrived on the SU campus as a lean 170-pound prospect that Orange coaches were hoping would blossom at some point into a rotational player. They liked his ability to make 3-point shots, his defensive instincts and his long, athletic frame.
Right now, he is playing behind numerous SU wings, most of whom have more college experience.
