Syracuse, N.Y. — Here are the Section III girls cross country rankings based on speed ratings through Nov. 20.
A speed rating is a statistical number that represents a runner’s speed on a standardized scale, accounting for factors like the course and race conditions to allow for direct comparison between performances from different races and courses. It’s essentially a “corrected” race time, where a higher rating indicates a faster performance.
These rankings are provided by Westhill girls cross country coach Dan Reid and will be posted on Fridays throughout the season.
