Syracuse, N.Y. — General Brown running back Camden Thomas helped lead the Lions to their second straight Section III Class C championship win on Saturday and was voted the syracuse.com player of the week for his efforts.
He carried the ball 16 times for 200 yards and three touchdowns. He had touchdown runs of 72, 78 and 43 for the Lions. Thomas also caught the game-sealing first down pass to secure the 51-49 win.
Thomas’ 200 yards were the most of any player in Section III for the championship round and his three touchdowns were tied for the second-most.
He has 1,043 rushing yards this season, which is the seventh most in Section III Class D. His 17 touchdowns are tied for the second-most.

General Brown improved to 10-1 after beating top-seeded Cazenovia in the section championship. The Lions will now head to the regional finals against Section IV’s Chenango Forks in the regional championship at noon on Saturday at Vestal High School.
