Students of the Onondaga Central Drama Club will perform the empowering and enchanting new musical, Disney’s “Between the Lines” this fall.
Based on the book by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer, the show is an enchanting story for anyone who has struggled to find their place in the world.
Meet Delilah McPhee, the new girl in school, who seeks comfort and escape in the pages of her favorite children’s fantasy book. There, she feels instantly heard and understood by the handsome Prince Oliver, the valiant hero of the novel.
But as the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur in extraordinary ways, Delilah discovers a truth more powerful than any fairytale: her dreams in the real world are worth fighting for.
The new musical sends a clear and inspiring message: live the story you want, even if it’s not the story you’re in.
“This production captures the magic of a great book and the relatable challenges of being a teenager,” says Director Patricia Cormier. “The score is incredible, and our students have brought immense energy and heart to this production. Come see a musical that truly reminds us to be the author of our own lives.”
Performances will be 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23 in the Onondaga Central Jr./Sr. High School auditorium, 4479 South Onondaga Road, Nedrow.
Tickets are available at the door and are $7 for adults and $4 for students.
