Cicero, N.Y. - State Police have released the name of a man who was killed in a rollover crash on Route 481 in Cicero on Thursday evening.
The man who died was David S. Cook, 67, of Syracuse. Cook was a lifelong Central New York musician who had played since the 1980s with bands such as Mad Jack and later with his own band, Cousin Jake.
Around 5:22 p.m., troopers responded to the crash on Route 481 near Bear Road in the town of Cicero.
Cook was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Express van south when he attempted to take the Exit 10 off-ramp to Bear Road, said Trooper Jennifer Jiron, a State Police spokesperson.
The van went off the east shoulder, rolled over, and came to rest on its passenger side in a ditch, troopers said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
