Lacy’s List: You pick the top Section III football player of the sectional finals (poll)

Syracuse, N.Y. — The Section III football championships took place last weekend and plenty of players made their mark.

Players on both the winning and losing sides had unbelievable performances and 13 players made Lacy’s List this week.

Syracuse.com readers can now vote on which football player they believe had the best performance last week. The poll will close at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

This vote is a way for fans to show support for their favorite players. Voting is restricted to one vote per day, per household. Any violations of this restriction will result in a disqualification of the athlete(s).

Here are the nominees for football player of the week:

Jerome Bowen, Frankfort-Schuyler: Bowen completed 19-of-23 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns in his team’s 40-36 loss in the championship. He also had 141 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on 37 carries.

Reese Bowen, Frankfort-Schuyler: The younger Bowen caught seven passes for 142 yards and one touchdown.

Phineas Colby, Cazenovia: Colby caught nine passes for 170 yards and three scores in the Lakers’ championship loss.

Gradyn Dixon, Christian Brothers Academy: Dixon helped lead the Brothers to their third consecutive section title with 196 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in CBA’s 27-6 win.

Tyquanne Harris, ITC: The Eagles’ QB threw for 222 yards and one touchdown.

Landen Highers, Morrisville-Eaton: The Mavericks’ QB helped lead his team to a section championship win with 134 passing yards, one passing touchdown and 98 rushing yards.

Mike Hill, Whitesboro: Hill got it done on both sides of the ball to help Whitesboro to its third straight section title. He had 122 all-purpose yards and returned an interception 69 yards for a touchdown.

Bobby Livingston, Cazenovia: Livingston’s Lakers came up just short in the Class C championship, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort. He threw for 448 yards and four touchdowns to go with 41 rushing yards and three more touchdowns.

Connor McDonald, Whitesboro: The junior accumulated 146 all-purpose yards — 86 rushing, 60 receiving — and two touchdowns in his team’s 21-7 championship win.

Camden Thomas, General Brown: Thomas led the Lions to another section championship win with 200 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries.

Johnny Vitullo, New Hartford: The Spartans’ QB completed 25-of-30 passes for 305 yards and three touchdowns in New Hartford’s championship win.

Peyton Way, New Hartford: Way continued his strong season with 12 catches, 165 yards and two touchdowns.

Cole Zubrzycki, Lowville: Zubrzycki led Lowville with 117 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries in his team’s 38-20 championship win.
