Renee Fox is an investigative reporter covering consumer issues, businesses, utilities and public money for syracuse.com | The Post-Standard. Before arriving at Advance Media New York in 2025, Renee spent four years working as a reporter and host for the NPR station in Columbus, Ohio, WOSU News. There, she won best political reporting in Ohio in 2024 for her podcast "The Power Grab" about the largest corruption scandal in the state's history. Renee has won awards for business, investigative and enterprise reporting at the Tribune Chronicle / Vindicator in Ohio, where she worked for eight years. Before studying journalism, Renee joined the U.S. Air Force and learned to speak the Pashto language. After the Air Force, she spent time working in Afghanistan as a linguist. When she's not working, Renee loves hiking, camping, science fiction and collecting records. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
