Medicare Part B premiums will increase in 2026, according to new figures from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Monthly premiums for Medicare Part B will rise $17.90 in 2026 to a total of $202.90. That’s an increase of about 9.7%.

Medicare Part B is a key component of the federal health care program. It covers numerous items, including visits to doctors and outpatient services like lab tests and diagnostic screening.

Some Medicare Part A costs will also rise next year, according to CMS. Part A covers inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facilities, hospice and more.

The inpatient hospital deductible that beneficiaries pay if admitted will rise by $60 to a total of $1,736 in 2026. That’s an increase of about 3.6%.

Nearly all Medicare beneficiaries don’t pay a premium for Part A services since they have at least 40 quarters of Medicare-covered employment, according to CMS.

You can get full details on Medicare cost increases for 2026 on the CMS website.

The news on Medicare cost increases comes after the Social Security Administration announced an increase in benefits for next year of 2.8%.

That’s a smaller percentage hike than any of the Part B cost increases.
