Supporting the health, independence and quality of life of older adults and New Yorkers with disabilities remains a central priority across New York State, and the NYS Master Plan for Aging brings together state agencies, community partners, and service providers to strengthen caregiving, expand wellness and housing access, enhance safety and social connection, and modernize long-term care through a coordinated, statewide approach.

FOCUS Greater Syracuse, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to fostering community engagement, will hold its upcoming virtual FOCUS forum on Friday, Dec. 19, from noon to 1 p.m. Registration is free and open to the public.

The December forum will offer an overview of the NYS Master Plan for Aging, highlighting the statewide engagement effort that shaped its recommendations and the comprehensive strategies it proposes to support older adults and New Yorkers with disabilities.

The discussion will explore key priorities, including caregiving, wellness, housing access, social connection, safety and technology, and how these coordinated approaches aim to strengthen communities and promote healthy aging across New York State.

During the free registration, participants will have the opportunity to submit their questions to the panelists. Questions may be used during a moderated Q&A session following the presentation. The forum is free to attend. Register at focussyracuse.org or click here.

The forum is part of FOCUS’ monthly forum series, where experts discuss citizen-driven topics and engage with attendees through a moderated Q&A session. Forums are open to the public and typically last one hour.

The December FOCUS Forum is sponsored by EDR. Through sponsorship, FOCUS is able to provide free access to this forum, serving as a valuable educational resource for all members of our community.
