Richmond, N.Y. — A man was killed Thursday afternoon while trying to attach a snowplow to a pickup truck in Ontario County, deputies said.
Around 3:30 p.m., deputies were called to 4690 White Road in the Town of Richmond for a report of a person trapped between a snowplow and a fence, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
A man had been helping attach a snowplow to the front of a pickup when the driver’s foot slipped off the brake, causing the truck to roll forward and pin him between the plow and a fence post, deputies said.
First responders helped free the man and began life-saving measures. He was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man killed was identified as Michael Seager, 60, of Swain, deputies said. Deputies did not release the driver’s name.
