Syracuse, NY - After eight years in business, At Home is closing at Destiny USA, according to a store employee.

The home decor superstore, which occupies 88,000 square-feet on Destiny’s first level, opened in the mall in 2016. At Home corporate officials said the store will close Aug. 1. They declined further comment.

The Dallas, TX- based retailer was originally named Garden Ridge Pottery in 1979, and changed its name to At Home in 2014. In 2021, At Home was acquired by Hellman & Freidman.

The company currently operates 262 stores in 40 states.

At Home features more than 50,000 items, including seasonal and holiday decor, wall art and rugs, housewares, home furnishings, patio furniture, decorative items and more.

The closest At Home to Syracuse is in New Hartford.
