Syracuse, N.Y. — Four-star class of 2024 edge rusher KingJoseph Edwards committed to Syracuse football during a live commitment announcement Tuesday night.

“Syracuse, I’m ready for this journey,” he said as he donned an orange baseball cap with Syracuse’s block S logo on it.

Edwards narrowed his top 3 choices to Syracuse, Colorado and Florida State after Fran Brown was introduced as the Orange’s new head coach. The recruit and coach have talked nearly every day since Brown first started trying to recruit Edwards to Georgia during his junior season, he told syracuse.com.

He cited his relationships with the SU coaching staff as his reasoning for picking the Orange.

As the No. 339 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite, Edwards (6-foot-4, 230 pounds) is now the second-highest ranked recruit in SU’s 2024 class.

Other four stars Emanuel Ross (WR) and Jamie Tremble (TE) round out the class’ top three players.

Edwards visited the Salt City Dec. 8-9 with his friend KJ Bolden, the country’s No. 1 safety. It was the Georgia native’s first trip to the state of New York.

Bolden, a five-star, has been verbally committed to Florida State since early August, but could flip his commitment during Wednesday’s signing day.

Edwards also got a home visit from Brown and DEs coach Nick Williams on Dec. 13. Williams had been his primary recruiter for Colorado before departing to join Brown’s staff.

Syracuse now has 18 commits in its 2024 class. Most will sign their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.
