4 Section III cross country runners score top 5 finishes at state meet; See how others fared

A quartet of Section III runners finished in the top five of their respective classes during the New York State cross country championships on Saturday at Queensbury High School.

Auburn’s Ryan Maher finished second in Class A, and his time of 15:11.6 was good enough for second place among all runners.

Maher’s Auburn running mate, Owen Gasper, finished in 15:30.0 for 13th place overall and 11th in Class A.

Waterville senior Danny Casatelli finished in 15:42.4 to take second in Class D.

On the girls side, Tully’s Anna Congelli and Alex Dickson finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the Class D race. Congelli, a senior, finished in 18:40.3, and Dickson, a sophomore, put up a time of 18:41.4.

Auburn senior Kyleen Brady finished 10th in Class A and 12th overall with her time of 17:46.4. Nottingham’s Delilah Pandori-Howell finished the Class A race with a time of 17:58.2, which was good enough for a 12th-place finish in the class and 17th-place finish overall.

Next up for the top runners is the Federation Championship meet next Saturday at Bowdin Park in Wappingers Falls.
